…at Corydon Presbyterian Church. Our vision is to share God’s all-embracing love in our community and the world. In order to do so, we believe we must be actively engaged in our community in a variety of ways. Here are a few of the ways we seek to serve our local community

We partner with Harrison County Community Services (HCCS) and some other churches and organizations to offer a free hot meal to whoever shows up on Monday evenings. Different teams of volunteers cook and serve the meal each week, using the
church’s kitchen and space, and food provided by Dare to Care through HCCS. (Our church cooks and serves on the third Monday of every month. Volunteers are always welcome.)

Corydon Presbyterian Church has been a key contributor to the Corydon Pride Festival since its inception in 2022. Our church has multiple members on the planning committee, has a booth at the festival, and covers the cost of insurance for the event each year.

We are honored to be able to host Corydon’s annual Martin Luther King celebration, which regularly includes a service of worship, remembrance and celebration in the sanctuary, followed by a celebration meal in the Community Life Center. Our pastor and
some members of the congregation participate on the event’s planning committee.

Powered by volunteers and donations, Repair Affair provides free home repair for homeowners 60 and over or with a verified disability who own and live in their home, and make less than 50% of the Area Median Income. Our church has supported Repair
Affair for many years, providing both financial support and enthusiastic volunteer workers.

Along with serving those in need and lifting up marginalized communities, we also seek to simply spread some love and joy in the community. Two of the ways we do that are with our annual Blessing of the Animals the first Sunday in October, and a Community Easter Egg Hunt the day before Easter. All are invited to come on the first Sunday of October to have their pets or farm animals receive a blessing in a brief, outdoor gathering which always comes with a lot of laughter and animal antics. Friends and neighbors across the county come the day before Easter for an Easter egg hunt for those 12 and under, followed by an informal lunch and pictures with the Easter Bunny!
